Windows NT 4.0 is a graphical operating system released by Microsoft Corporation on July 311996. Five versions were released: Workstation, Server, Server Enterprise Edition, Terminal Server Edition and Embedded.
Windows NT 4.0 could support a maximum of DirectX 3.0a, so it was capable of supporting very limited gaming even for its time. Despite Windows NT 4.0 being aimed primarily at businesses, some video game publishers, such as Xplosiv, included compatability checks on the rear cover for the video game being able to run on it.
