Hero's Journey was a projected fantasy MMORPG by Simutronics. Projected to be the most distinctive feature of Hero's Journey was its quest system (called the "Journey System").[2] Like many of Simutronics's other fantasy games, Hero's Journey was to be set in the world of Elanthia, utilizing the HeroEngine, an MMO engine developed by Simutronics for the game.

History[ | ]

Hero's Journey had been in development since the late 1990s (The Mud-Dev-L list's MUD timeline lists the date when development was publicly announced as 1999). Its release date was pushed back several times subsequently.[3]

As of March, 2009, all remaining developers and game masters assigned to Hero's Journey were laid off or reassigned, although no official announcement of the game's cancellation has been made.

The official web site has not been updated since September, 2009.
