128-bit
Basic Information
Type(s)
Terminology

128-bit can refer to a CPU or memory interface that is capable of addressing and transferring 128 bits of data per clock cycle. In more technical terms, this means processors can work with 128-bit binary numbers (decimal numbers up to 170,141,183,460,469,231,731,687,303,715,884,105,727); anything larger, and the computer would need to break the data into smaller pieces.
