World Series of Poker is a poker video game developed by Left Field Productions and published by Activision. It was released for the PlayStation 2, GameCube, Xbox, PlayStation Portable and PC. It was released in North America in 2005 and in Europe in 2006. It is based on the World Series of Poker, often described as the world's premier televised poker event.


Players take part as their created player in one of a number of poker varients. They are Omaha, Omaha Hi-Low Split, Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Stud Hi-Low Split, Razz (Seven Stud Lowball), and Texas Hold 'em. Players can either compete in a quick game or take part in a full WSOP career, where players begin with a $10,000 bankroll and compete in various tournaments to earn more money. Winning an event not only earns the player a lot of money but also earns them a World Series of Poker bracelt. The career's main event is the $10,000 buy-in No-Limit Texas Hold 'em event, which takes place at Harrah's Rio Suites in Las Vegas, Nevada, where the real life 2005 World Series of Poker main event was held.
